Lovell Medical Center PTSD Unit – Named in honor of Captain James Lovell and “Chappy’s” Service for Humanity Foundation - Under the leadership of Marine Chaplain LCDR Ron Ringo. Both these fine organizations are dedicated to serving Military Members, their Families and Veterans of Wars past and present, by funding Medical and Non-Medical Treatment Options and Supplemental Education for “Life Trauma” and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (‘PTSD’) concerns. Research shows about 1/3 of the 1.8 million returning from Iraq and Afghanistan have suffered or suffer from PTSD. Their purpose is to assist those on active duty or post-separation veterans and families in attaining the knowledge, tools and treatment to create a life of lasting healing and happiness. Winnetka-Northfield Rotary Charitable Foundation –The W-N Rotary Club and Foundation was chartered in 1924 and is an ‘ALL-Volunteer’ service organization of business and professional leaders united to conduct and fund humanitarian projects on a local, regional, national and international basis based on Rotary’s commitment of “Service Above Self”. We elected to assist the above organizations this year because of the long historical impact the military has in the Midwest region and for the current need to support our hurting Heroes of the Iraq / Afghanistan wars, the families and children of deployed troops and KIA’s and Veterans from all wars who are in need. It provides a special opportunity for the community at large to say “Thank You”! to our military Heroes ‘up close and personal’. A portion of the net proceeds will help fund our Rotary Club Foundation’s humanitarian projects locally, regionally and internationally. The W-N Rotary Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit Organization, EIN 36-3119576. www.wnrotary.org

“I am about to leave for the airport to pick up my friend’s children (MAJ Matt Worrell KIA) and other families for the weeklong camp.  I am so honored to teach these kids fishing, rafting, ropes courses, horseback riding and leadership.

“We could not accomplish these activities and travel without you and your organization. We are able to love on these little heroes this week because of you folks and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

James D. Clark
Founder,
