Holes for Heroes - September 12, 2011 at Cranes' Landing

Background and Purpose

The Midwest is home to the Lovell Medical Center, Great Lakes Training Center, VA hospitals, and veteran's homes. Our region has sent many men and women marines, sailors, soldiers, and air to war zones around the world. As a result, our region experiences much of the pain resulting from combat fatalities, wounded warriors and the resulting stress to the families of our deployed military personnel.

Our desire, with your generous help and support, is to show our commitment to our Midwest region military personnel and their families by:

  • Helping ease the pain of our "Hurting Heroes" recovering at Lovell Medical Center from injuries sustained in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and to those living among us and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

  • Supporting the needs of Families and Children of Midwest region "Warriors Deployed" in war zones.

  • Remembering the children and families of our Fallen Heroes via GuideOn.org and related entities.

We utilize the Rotary Club Foundation platform because it is trusted, 100% all-volunteers, no paid staff, no fixed overhead ensuring that 100% of the proceeds go to the beneficiary charities. 85% of the net proceeds raised go to our Military serving charities to support military personnel and families in our region. The remaining 15% goes towards Humanitarian projects via the Winnetka-Northfield Rotary Foundation. To date, Holes for Heroes has raised over $275,000 netting over $200,000!

Midwest Financial Goal: $100,000 with your generous help and support. NEVER FORGET.
